Ceramics, glass, light

Small Moon is a heavy sculpture with glass and light elements. If you look closely inside the glass face you will see a lovely scenery with moonlight. The carved, lit up faces on the exterior of each of my vessels mask an interior world of private thoughts, trials and dreams. Using the landscapes from my childhood memories, this series of works seeks to create a reflection of myself and my lived experience. Depictions on the inside of the sculptures further communicate snippets of my personal story. These forms are a portrait of the artist in the way that a child is a portrait of their mother.
