Artist Statement

The earth-interior is a treasure trove of strata, and keeps stories of past landscapes. Geologically impermanent, landscapes are continually in motion, a motion which plays a crucial role in maintaining and regulating stable conditions for life on this planet. What we put into the earth today is a message to a future past. This work is a future fossil, a fictional scenario that imagines a future civilisation reconstructing these works as found artefacts. Unearthed with emerald and tar-seal crumbles, a glimpse into deep time.
