New Zealand painter Gerry Parke lets Artfull into his studio to discuss his creative practice, what inspires him, and how he uses painting to unpack what it means to be masculine. Influenced by his own experience growing up in rural Aotearoa, Parke's paintings tackle loneliness, depression, violence, conspicuous over-consumption and the propensity for risk-taking that define and limit our conception of masculinity in New Zealand culture.
